#Visionworks giving away eye exams/ glasses to 10,000 kids in need

Now that Back to School season is in full swing, have your children gotten their annual eye exams yet?  We took our children to Visionworks in Southgate Shopping Center right here in Massapequa earlier this year.  We had a great experience and will certainly go back again for our annual visit in the new year.  There are Davis Visionworks all over the NY Metro Area, do a search for the location nearest you.

Visionworks and Davis Vision are teaming up to raise awareness of the importance of annual eye exams for children. They are encouraging families across the U.S. to join us in including an eye exam on your child’s annual back-to-school checklist.

Why? Did you know that 1 in 4 children has a vision problem? And, 60% of children labeled as problem learners have an undetected vision problem? Many U.S. parents simply don’t know their children has a vision problem, or don’t have the means to afford routine vision care.

Last month, Davis Vision and Visionworks, in their commitment to raising awareness of the importance of this issue to all parents, as well as helping children in need, kicked off National Let’s Go See Awareness Month where they invited parents, teachers, coaches and community members to visit www.letsgosee.net to nominate a child, school or organization in need of a free comprehensive eye exams and glasses.  This initiative not only served as a public awareness campaign, but it is also helping 10,000 children in need to receive free eye exams and eyeglasses!

How you can get involved:

  • pledge to take your child(ren) to get an annual eye exam
  • nominate a school/organization/child in need for a free eye exam and pair of glasses via www.letsgosee.net.
  • help spread the word about their commitment to donating 10,000 eye exams and glasses to children in need
  • share the link to the Let’s Go See website
