WHO: The Light The Night fundraising walk will honor two courageous cancer survivors and Long Island natives 10 year-old Mary Delorenzo of Islip, Suffolk County and 8 year-old Douglas Grimmett of Shirley, Suffolk County as Boy and Girl of the Year. Guest speaker will include 2015 Corporate Walk Chair and Long Island native, Michael W. Katz President & CEO of Perfumania Holdings Inc., Executive VP of Quality King Distributors Inc. who is also living with chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

WHAT:The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society™ (LLS) Light The Night Walk funds lifesaving research and support for people battling cancer. Friends, families and co-workers have form fundraising teams and millions of consumers help by donating at retail outlets. These efforts culminate in inspirational, memorable evening walks in over two hundred communities each fall across North America. In 2014, LLS’s Light The Night Walk raised more than $60 million nationally. Participants walk along a two-mile route, carrying illuminated lanterns — white for patients and survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of loved ones lost.

Light The Night raises funds to support LLS’s mission: cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families and to create public awareness about blood cancers and their devastating effects.
